Nassau County Police investigators said that three men walked into KSN Discount Wine and Liquor on Franklin Avenue in Hewlett at 5:51 p.m. and walked out with merchandise without making an attempt to pay.
Police said that when the three men were approached by a 33-year-old store clerk who attempted to prevent them from leaving, a struggle ensued that ended with one of the suspects spraying an unknown substance on his victim’s face.
The clerk suffered pain and burning, police said, while the three men fled on foot.
The suspects were described as being African American and between 20 and 30 years old. In a video released by police, one of the suspects can be seen wearing a grey camouflage shirt, mask, dark pants, and sneakers. No other identifying information has been released by investigators.
Anyone with information regarding the suspect, the struggle, or the robbery, has been asked to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-244-TIPS.
